GNA Pastors Bowl
GCC and SAC pastors fellowship while bowling
Dozens of Seventh-day Adventist pastors in metropolitan Atlanta got together to have a ball – bowling balls, actually. About 30 pastors of Georgia-Cumberland and South Atlantic conferences laced up multi-colored shoes and carefully selected their respective neon-colored bowling balls for a morning of fun and fellowship at Brunswick Zone in Austell.
Good News Atlanta, under the leadership of Director Bill Levin, rounded up the troops for a morning away from the office and a chance to get better acquainted with their counterparts. Conference presidents Vanard Mendinghall of South Atlantic and Ed Wright of Georgia-Cumberland were on site for their share of the fun as well.
The high-fives for successful turns, “ahh’s” and “oh’s” for near misses, and loud talking and laughter in general were served up in abundance as the pastors – male and female – divided into groups and tried their hands at keeping the bowling balls speeding down the lanes to the pins and out of the gutters. Some were successful; others were not quite so fortunate.
High score for the morning was by Georgia-Cumberland’s Harold Cunningham with 209 points. Gutter balls or no gutter balls, the pastors left for lunch together at a nearby restaurant sharing a closer bond as they prepare to join forces to evangelize the metro Atlanta area and to host the General Conference session in 2010.
