Are Muslims Searching for You?

You may be the link for Muslims to experience a deeper level of spiritual connection.

A friend and I recently met with 3 precious Muslim brothers and we had what can only be described as a miraculous conversation. Since I already had a relationship with these gentlemen and their organization going back two years, they knew my heart and what I stood for. They knew that my greatest desire was to call all people wherever they are at into a deeper walk with God in preparation for the return of Jesus. As we talked and the questions continued to come, I clearly sensed God leading me to take our interaction deeper on that day. After reminding them of the many things we hold in common based on our beliefs of the God of creation, the God of grace and mercy, and the God of the Bible; God's Spirit took the whole conversation to another level altogether. They were specifically intrigued by our similarities in so many ways like not eating pork, not drinking alcohol, living our lives in ready expectation of the return of Jesus (Isa in Arabic) so they asked more specifically about Seventh-day Adventist understandings. That is when it got really exciting.

I felt led to share some of the pillars of the Adventist message in a comprehensible way that as Muslims they could resonate with. The signs of true piety, the plan of God bringing humanity back into peace with Him through His Messiah, and other subjects seemed to come together in a way that I had never experienced before. As I quietly listened for God's direction for each sentence and word that would be understandable for them to see the overall beauty and coherence of this end time faith, I was humbled and amazed at His goodness. As words came out describing our beliefs yet showing evidence of that within their own truth worldview (from the Qur'an and Islamic thought), they listened intently and were visibly blessed and surprised. That opened our relationship to a completely new level and unearthed many Biblical questions that they had been wrestling with. We will definitely be meeting again to go into more of these timely subjects. I spent more hours with them and before I left, they said something that is worth our serious and prayerful consideration.

The leader remarked and shared with me that a famous Muslim writer had taught them to expect a group in the last days to call people back to the essence and foundation of true faith (Biblical faith) and that Muslims should unite with such a group, working together. With those incredible words hanging in the air, he then quietly asked me if Adventists could be that group? Stunning question!

What would you say? What do you think? Could we? Should we? Are we? This is not about labels we can toss on as easily as a tie worn on the right day and in the right building! Or a flippant judgment on others that don't know what we think we know. Their question should come to us as the voice of God arousing us from our Laodicean state: are we that group? do we have that message? That question should be a heavenly echo ricocheting through our hearts and calling us to our knees! Are we?

I believe the Muslim world is waiting to see if we are. Yes! The full Biblical plan of salvation and the great controversy theme is that clarion call of the essence of faith for these last days, BUT they need to hear that message in a way that they can understand and join in with. They are waiting to see a people living the essence of that faith in these days of rampant materialism, cultural hedonism, fragmenting fear, and moral relativity. They are looking for those who keep the commandments of God (not just the letters, but with a vibrancy of life being born again moment by moment through God's abundant grace) and are living the faith of Jesus (trusting and submitting wholly to God no matter the cost or the pain - even to the death). They need to see such a group. The world needs to see such a group! Will they?

As you might imagine, I would love to find that reference and study what the writer said. BUT, even more than that, I want to be part of a people who are willing to walk this kind of walk and share this message to the Muslims around them, and I believe God is looking for more people like that as well. Are you one of them?

If so, please join me in this crucial and timely work. Pray, support, learn, and become equipped to be the people that nearly 22% of the world (Muslims) are looking for. Contact me: enochspassion@gmail.com
